Adventures of a bride: Part I – E
Recently, I’ve been working closely with a bride, E, who is getting married in July 2008. I thought it would be fun to post about our adventures – the vendors we meet, decisions she and her fiance makes, her wedding, and in the end, the story in her words.
When we first started working together, E only had her venue / caterer and her Dress picked. She didn’t have a photographer, entertainment, flowers… poor girl needed some guidance. E and N, her fiance, are on a tight budget because this celebration will be paid by the couple. Any money not spent on the wedding will go towards a future home, which I find to be equally if not more important than a wedding. My goal, as her wedding planner, is to find her vendors that will fit within her budget. She and N will have a beautiful wedding, but for a fraction of the cost, and you, my readers, will see how it all turns out in the end.
Let’s start with what E has so far:
Dress: Style T9218 Ivory and Periwinkle from David Bridals
E has long wavy to curly dark brown hair. I think this dress would very flattering on her petite frame. It’s formal, but not so constricting and will fit in well with her afternoon ceremony and wedding. The chapel train adds elegance for the ceremony and once bustled, it will add a flair of feminity to her A-line dress. E chose periwinkle for her sash, and I’m glad she chose to go with some color. Colored sashes is a trend (Vera Wang is going with black sashes, and Monique L’Huillier has metallic silver lined sashes, etc) but the periwinkle does not take away from the dress but adds a bit of character.
Because the dress has come lace, I offered her my lace veil, which is two tiered. We’ll see if she’ll use it, or if she has money in her budget to splurge on one.

Venue / Catering:
E chose the Joseph Ambler Inn (http://www.josephamblerinn.com/) which is a bed and breakfast near Bucks Counts. I have yet to visit the venue, but the photos are beautiful. Since E’s wedding is in July, her ceremony will most likely be outdoors.
