It was on a recent trip home to my parent’s house in Northern New Jersey where I became inspired to write this blog. My mother, a landscape architect, has always kept the house full of greenery. Orchids, peace lilly’s, ferns and herbs are year round staples in my home. It wasn’t, however, until this particular trip that I became unexpectedly aware of the delicate features of the potted orchids or how the ferns looked so majestic.

So why this sudden realization? It was simple, she had put the plants in glass cloches. There was something about enclosing the plants in those bell jars that made them appear special. ¬†Apothecary jars and cloches come in various sizes and are a great decor option for any theme. And it’s not just greenery that can benefit. From center pieces to candy buffets and the cake table, these glass domes are perfect for adding a little glamour to any wedding.

It’s customary to see apothecary jars filled with candy at a dessert table. That’s why I love how these are filled instead with pink tulips and peonies that play perfectly with the other rose colored desserts.

Head to a local farm for this decor item. Exotic looking pumpkins are great option for a fall wedding. Mix it up by using miniature squash and colorful ornamental Indian corn.

Bring nature to your table by covering a bird’s nest or arranging river rocks under a cloche. Add color by stacking green moss covered balls.

Cloches are great for showcasing appetizers or desserts. Spread them throughout a long table so guests can nibble throughout dinner.

Be original and think outside the jar! Show off the ingredients to a custom cocktail or display the dinner menu in metallic ink.

This lively bohemian inspired wedding brightened up their guest tables by using apothecary jars filled with colorful beaded necklaces. They not only look great but can double as favors for guests to grab before they hit the dance floor.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to using these glass containers. By using personal belongings and sentiments, these jars truly add a customized element to any space.
