Trend Alert: Totally Tops!
The Royal Portrait courtesy of The Washington Post
Once upon a time in far away kingdom there was a royal wedding between Prince William and the beautiful Kate in an enchanted castle…. Okay, so perhaps it was only a year ago that all eyes were on these two lovebirds as they tied the knot. This was THE wedding of the year, and wedding trends in 2012 are continuing being influenced by this British soiree. For me, there was one thing that stuck in my mind (and no I’m not talking about Pippa). I am referring to the fabulous fascinators that the guests donned on their heads.

While there were many noteworthy moments, the hats that all the attendees wore managed to catch my eye. They ranged from wild and wacky to sweet and sophisticated. This English tradition is not something we are accustomed to here in the United States; however, this year brides everywhere are getting in on this millinery moment! They are branching out and taking risks with their wedding day style. Some brides are wearing veils for the walk down the aisle, and then switching to jeweled combs or headpieces for the reception. Other less traditional brides are ditching the veil all together. In fact, a veil is no longer the norm for the modern woman. This is also a wonderful way for a bride to express her individuality on this special day. Besides it is ALL about the bride….RIGHT?! Check out some of these trendy toppers below to find a style that suits your personality!
